The world is so exquisite with so much love and moral depth, that there is no reason to deceive ourselves with pretty stories for which there’s little good evidence. Far better it seems to me, in our vulnerability, is to look death in the eye and to be grateful every day for the brief but magnificent opportunity that life provides.
Black Hole-Powered Jets Plow Into Galaxy.
This composite image of a galaxy illustrates how the intense gravity of a supermassive black hole can be tapped to generate immense power. The image contains X-ray data from NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory (blue), optical light obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope (gold) and radio waves from the NSF’s Very Large Array (pink).

So tired
It’s rare that things go smoothly. I can’t remember a time when things didn’t fuck up. Actually, that’s a lie; I remember there was a one month period last year when things were great, but that was because I was a monk in a temple 350km from Bangkok.
I know I can’t be monk all the time. I have far too many attachments to things in everyday life. My wife being one for a start. So I just have to take it like a champ. But sometimes it just wears me out.
